As travellers hit the road for the long weekend, a couple of crashes are already causing delays on two South Island State Highways

A crash involving a truck and trailer is blocking State Highway 1 south of Weld Pass, between Blenheim and Seddon.
The highway is expected to be closed for several hours, and Waka Kotahi warns a detour via Lewis Pass will add two hours to the Christchurch to Blenheim journey.
As well, stop/go traffic controls are in place following a truck crash on State Highway 6 Owen Junction, north of Murchison.
