Concerns we'll be short of rental cars - for next summer's projected tourism boom

It's believed the sector can only increase its fleet by about 15-thousand this year, a shortfall of up to 10-thousand vehicles.
The Rental Vehicle Association blames global supply chain issues, as well as changes to the Clean Car Scheme's timeline -- and restrictions on models.
Chief Executive, Ben McFadgen, says during the pandemic, many operators trimmed their fleets -- about a 25-thousand total reduction.
He says they then struggled to increase numbers when needed.
