    A chain of South Island pet stores has shut its doors for good

    A chain of South Island pet stores has shut its doors for good


    Pet Central, which includes dog grooming and dog day care services, has gone into liquidation overnight.

    Stores affected include shops in Queenstown, Timaru, Hornby, Shirley, Papanui, Kaiapoi and Moorhouse Ave.

    The online retail store has also folded.

    The Pet Central website is inactive and all of the company's social media account has disappeared as of this morning.
