The jury is continuing to deliberate in the trial of triple murder accused Lauren Dickason

The jury is continuing to deliberate in the trial of triple murder accused Lauren Dickason

They have been considering their verdict for nine-and-a-half hours so far, and will continue today from 10am.

Dickason doesn't deny killing her three daughters in Timaru in 2021 -- but is mounting a defence of infanticide and insanity.

If found guilty of murder she faces life in prison - if the jury reaches a verdict of infanticide she could be jailed for a maximum of three years.

If her defence of insanity is accepted Justice Cameron Mander will have to consider making an order detaining her as a special patient at a psychiatric unit.
