    Former Formula One driver Felipe Massa has accused motor racing's governing body of conspiring to prevent him winning the 2008 title


    The Brazilian's launching a legal battle against the FIA and F1's management arm... claiming he is the rightful champion, despite finishing runner-up to Lewis Hamilton, 15 years ago.

    The theory goes that Renault's Nelson Piquet Junior deliberately crashed at the Singapore Grand Prix to help then-teammate Fernando Alonso win.

    The crash brought a safety car out, which forced Massa to squander his original advantage.

    A subsequent calamitous pit stop dropped the Ferrari driver drop to 13th.
