Kaitaia boxer Mea Motu's IBO super bantamweight title defence against Malawi's Ellen Simwaka will go ahead as planned tomorrow night in Auckland

Kaitaia boxer Mea Motu's IBO super bantamweight title defence against Malawi's Ellen Simwaka will go ahead as planned tomorrow night in Auckland

Referee Ignatius Missilaidus will call the fight, despite demands for his removal from Motu's trainer Isaac Peach... after the latter slated Missilaidus' performance as a judge this week.

Peach says their only other option was pulling out of the bout - which they weren't willing to do in the end.

The Wellington Phoenix have scrapped most Sunday afternoon fixtures for the upcoming A-League men's football season.

The team will play two home games at that time, three on Friday evenings and the remaining eight on Saturdays.

Phoenix general manager David Dome says attendances were poor at Sunday games last season.
