WorkSafe is looking into how a Canterbury high school student caught fire in class

The Year 13 Ashburton College student was hospitalised with serious injuries, after his clothes caught fire in an automotive class.

He was using a grinder without a protective apron.

WorkSafe is making inquiries but is yet to launch a formal investigation.
