Immigration could be a double edged sword for inflation

Stats NZ will release the figure for the three months to September just before 11 this morning.
The Reserve Bank has predicted a year to September number of 6 percent, while other economists are predicting slightly higher.
ANZ Economist Henry Russell says while immigration can help curb wage related inflation, it can drive it up in other ways.
He says immigration could increase demand for housing, driving up prices, something the Reserve Bank is concerned about.
Annual net migration hit a historically unprecedented 110 thousand in the year to August.
