    Met service has issued Orange heavy rain warnings for Mount Taranaki from 4 this morning to 10 tonight, with up to 150mm expected


    It says Nelson, northwest of Motueka can expect 100 to 140mm this morning, with thunderstorms possible.

    The ranges of Westland, south of Otira can expect 110 to 160 mm of rain until 6am Saturday. Thunderstorms are possible there too.

    Another burst of heavy rain is expected overnight Saturday and Sunday morning.

    High humidity is expected to stick around for a while yet.
