    Power should now be switching back on for 8000 properties in Central Otago, after an unexpected outage


    Townships and areas including Alexandra, Clyde, Cromwell Gorge and Fruitlands lost power just after 9am.

    An Aurora Energy spokesperson says everyone should be reconnected from midday.
