Police have launched two homicide investigations after shootings in Palmerston North and the Rangatiki District's Ohingaiti in the last 24 hours

Last night Police were called to a Coromandel Court address in Palmerston North, with reports a man had been shot.

He was taken to hospital but later died.

Early this morning police were called to a property in Ohingaiti north of Palmerston North where a man had been shot.

He was taken to Whanganui Hospital but later died.

Police say they are following strong lines of enquiry.
