More off-peak services are being added to the passenger train between Hamilton and Auckland

More off-peak services are being added to the passenger train between Hamilton and Auckland

Starting today, Te Huia will have a third service on Thursdays and Fridays when it says demand has been the highest.

There will also be a second return service on Saturdays.

Waikato Regional Councillor Angela Strange says it's still a start-up service -- they're two years into a five year trial.

She says they've been hearing from the community what is working and what isn't -- so this is their way of doing a test to see what works.
