Heather Rae El Moussa has branded 'Selling Sunset' "very toxic", and admitted the stars of the show will "do anything" to get attention

The former star of the hit Netflix reality show and realtor - who quit the show after six series - has described working 12 to 14-hour days on the programme and called out her co-stars for being fame-hungry

Speaking on 'The Skinny Confidential Him and Her Podcast' with her husband and ' The Flipping El Moussas' co-star Tarek El Moussa, she said: "It was a blessing that I wasn't asked to come back because I'm so much happier filming my show with Tarek.

We're co-producers on our show so we pick the hours. With Selling Sunset, I never knew when I was going to be filming.

It was last minute, it took over my life, it was hard to do my real job - real estate. It was hard to do anything else.

"It was crazy. They just want more and more and more, and you saw me on the show.

"I pretty much was level-headed almost the whole time. I was kind of friends with everyone, and I kept things pretty chill in my life.

'You're around a bunch of women [who all want] to be stars on the show, you know, number one. And they'll kind of do anything."

Announcing her departure from the show, she wrote on Instagram at the time: "It's bittersweet to not be a part of SS anymore.

"But I do know that good or bad I wouldn't change the experiences I had."

The 36-year-old star added: "Everything happens how it's meant to. And we all have a plan."

She suggested she found out when she wasn't featured in a promo for the seventh season.

She wrote: "Looks like I got pushed in the water ... it's a good thing I can swim.

"Congrats to my girls on S7! You may see me in a few episodes."

She ended up appearing in three episodes of the season last year.
