The first phase of a coronial inquest into the death of three-year-old Lachlan Jones has ended

The first phase of a coronial inquest into the death of three-year-old Lachlan Jones has ended

The Gore toddler died five years ago - his body found in a council oxidation pond about a kilometre from his home.

Police investigations concluded he walked there himself - but his father, Paul Jones, believes he was murdered.

The three-week inquest saw various family, friends and officials speak on the night of the little boy's death - and the days which followed.

Forensic pathologists, an expert investigator and a child behaviour expert will be called for technical evidence when the next inquest phase begins in August.
