Julianne Hough is "very happy" being single

The 35-year-old dancer says she will only date someone if "something really special" exists between them

She told PEOPLE: "I'm very happy. So, it's got to be something really special."

The 'Rock of Ages' actress is "ready for whatever is right".

She insisted: "Look, my heart is open."

The 'Dancing With the Stars' star finalised her divorce from former ice hockey player Brooks Laich, 41, in the summer of 2022, two years after they split, and a year later, she insisted she was happy to make plans with friends and travel but wasn't looking to date at the time.

The former 'America's Got Talent' judge told the New York Post newspaper's Page Six column: "I'm ready for friends and travel, and I guess that is a 'hot girl summer.' I don't know."

Asked if she would be looking for love, she exclaimed: "No!"

The 'Bride!' actress relocated from Los Angeles to New York for a fresh start and loves the "possibilities and dreams" the Big Apple offers.

Julianne said: "Everything is so accessible at any moment, and it's a city full of possibilities and dreams and connection, and you can think really big here. It just feels like there's more ability that you're going to meet somebody or connect with somebody that has similar like-mindedness or complete opposite and can challenge you.

"I love the people. I love the culture. I love that every day I feel more a part of the world - and I love LA, too, but it just feels different."

Her ex went on to date professional CrossFitter Katrín Davíðsdóttir.
