A woman in her 60s was seriously attacked by four pig dogs, while out for a walk with her own dogs on the Red Bridge Road public walkway in May - she was airlifted to Waikato Hospital.
Two dogs remain at the Thames-Coromandel District Council pound, while the other two were returned to the owner.
A resident, who use to run Paku Hill where the dogs live, stopped because they're terrified of them going "nuts".
They say it's shocking the dogs haven't been put down - as they believe they're extremely dangerous.
