A pair of Whakatane men have been ordered to pay more than four-thousand dollars for neglecting two horses, in 2021

A pair of Whakatane men have been ordered to pay more than four-thousand dollars for neglecting two horses, in 2021

An SPCA Inspector was told to leave, and returned the next day.

One horse had deep wounds on her hips and fetlock joint - above the hoof - and was euthanised on the spot.

The second horse was seized for emergency treatment, for obesity, conjunctivitis, cracked and overgrown hooves, and swelling in one leg.

    It recovered after receiving care.
