No new Fruit Flies have been discovered, in more than two weeks

No new Fruit Flies have been discovered, in more than two weeks

A single male Oriental Fruit Fly, was found in South Auckland's Papatoetoe, at the start of the month.

Biosecurity New Zealand officers, are continuing to check traps, safely dispose waste from local bins and test fruit in the local area daily.

They're also monitoring traps in another zone, further out from where the Fruit Fly was initially detected.

The biosecurity work is expected to continue into the middle of next month.

Today officers will be visiting local produce markets, to provide more information to the community.
