Investigations are underway after four suspicious church fires at Masterton overnight

Investigations are underway after four suspicious church fires at Masterton overnight

Emergency crews were called to the blazes at around 4:30 this morning - with damage ranging from moderate to significant.

Police checked other churches in the town, and found evidence to suggest three further churches were targeted - but didn't catch alight.

Officers remain at the scene of the fires, and are carrying out reassurance patrols, including in nearby towns Featherston and Carterton.
