Police have been able to intervene in at least one incident thanks to heightened operations following the Bondi Beach terror attacks.

Gunmen killed 15 people at a Jewish event at the popular Sydney beach last month.

Superintendent Scott Gemmell says there are daily scans for reports which may involve elements of antisemitism or Islamaphobia.

He says, in one case, it flagged reports of an Auckland man acting aggressively towards people gathered at Islamic centres in the region.

Gemmell says the man, who is a member of the Islamic faith, has long standing mental health concerns and support was put in place for him.
