Nicola Peltz Beckham's dad Nelson Peltz hopes she and Brooklyn have a "long, happy marriage"

The 83-year-old billionaire businessman has addressed his daughter's family drama being in the press following her husband's explosive statement aimed at his parents Sir David and Lady Victoria Beckham.

Speaking at a WSJ Invest Live event on Tuesday (03.02.26), Nelson was asked about "negotiating high-stakes situations, particularly playing out in public view".

He quipped: "Has my family been in the press lately? I haven't noticed that at all."

He added: "My advice is to stay the hell out of the press. How much good did that do?

"My daughter and the Beckhams are a whole other story.

"That's not for coverage here today, but I'll tell you my daughter's great, my son-law Brooklyn is great, and I look forward to them having a long, happy marriage together."

Nelson, a father-of-ten, was asked if has given the couple any advice on navigating difficult situations.

He said: "I do. Sometimes they give me advice."

Last month, Brooklyn shared a lengthy bombshell post on Instagram in which he accused his parents of being responsible for their family rift.

He accused his parents David and Victoria of wanting to "ruin his relationship" with wife Nicola, and alleged that his mother ruined his first dance.

He claimed: ""My mum hijacked my first dance with my wife, which had been planned weeks in advance to a romantic love song.

"In front of our 500 wedding guests, Marc Anthony called me to the stage, where in the schedule was planned to be my romantic dance with my wife but instead my mum was waiting to dance with me instead.

"She danced very inappropriately on me in front of everyone. I've never felt more uncomfortable or humiliated in my entire life.

"We wanted to renew our vows so we could create new memories of our wedding day that bring us joy and happiness, not anxiety and embarrassment."

The final story post in the explosive statement told how the couple and their "future family" just want "peace, privacy and happiness".

Brooklyn wrote: "The narrative that my wife controls me is completely backwards. I have been controlled by my parents for most of my life.

"I grew up with overwhelming anxiety. For the first time in my life, since stepping away from my family, that anxiety has disappeared.

"I wake up every morning grateful for the life I chose, and have found peace and relief.

"My wife and I do not want a life shaped by image, press, or manipulation. All we want peace, privacy and happiness for us and our future family."
