Ciara enjoys playing matchmaker by setting her friends up on dates

The 40-year-old singer and her husband Russell Wilson are keen to help their pals "find love" and they are responsible for two engagements so far after successfully matching Fifth Harmony's Normani with NFL star DK Metcalf and helping singer/actress Coco Jones settle down with basketball player Donovan Mitchell.

Ciara told PEOPLE: "We get excited when we get to help our friends find love, and it brings us joy ... It's kind of a fun game for us at this point, but it makes us happy when people can experience love. So yes, any chance we get, we're going to do it."

Football star Wilson added: "We believe in love, and whenever we can set people up, it's always the best."

The couple introduced Normani and DK Metcalf and they were thrilled when the pair got engaged in March 2025.

Ciara and Russell found out the happy news in a FaceTime call and the singer shared a screenshot on Instagram showing the couple's reaction. She captioned the snap: "[Russell] and I knew when we introed yall [sic] 3 yrs ago ... Love was truly in the air!

"Now yall gon be booed up for forever [sic]!! This was the best news ... we love yall so much!"

Normani previously revealed Ciara set her up with Metcalf by making sure she attended a party which was going to be attended by the sportsman.

In an interview with Apple Music's Ebro Darden, she explained: "We actually met through Ciara and Russ ... She was serious ... [She] kept texting me. She had like an alcohol brand she was releasing but she was really adamant about me coming [to this party] ... very adamant ...

"I just knew it was something else because she was just very adamant, and when I was on the way, she was like: 'Oh yeah, your boy's gonna be there'.

"And I said: 'Ok I see what you're trying to do here'. And they did the same to him. Once he was already there. It was playing Cupid. But it worked."

The couple got together in 2022 and announced their engagement a year later in 2023.
