The first Auckland housing - designed for spinal injury recovery - is now officially open

The first Auckland housing - designed for spinal injury recovery - is now officially open

Many people with these injuries are left without suitable housing, or are discharged to motels, aged residential care, private hospitals and unsafe homes.

The Laura Ferguson Trust's new Transitional Home will offer an option for people to move from hospital to long-term accommodation, without disrupting rehab.

Chief Executive Ray Finch says it provides a solution to a gap in the market.

He says their home provides the ability to continue that process in a warm homely feel.
