New Zealand have cashed in on Australia's misfortune at their home SailGP event in Lyttelton

New Zealand have cashed in on Australia's misfortune at their home SailGP event in Lyttelton

Australia were given an eight-point deduction after hitting a race marker in a bid to avoid contact with Canada.

The collision damage ruled them out for the rest of the event.

New Zealand took advantage by winning the regatta and assuming the lead in the title race.

Wing trimmer Blair Tuke says the Black Foils capitalised on their rivals' mishap.

New Zealand have 68 points to Australia's 59 with four regattas to race.
