Police are pleading for public help to identify a vehicle involved in a South Auckland hit and run that killed a 79 year old

Police are pleading for public help to identify a vehicle involved in a South Auckland hit and run that killed a 79 year old

Grandfather of 12, Jalil Mousses , was returning from visiting family about half-past-seven on the evening of June 26, and crossed Manurewa's Russell Road.

As he crossed the road, a light coloured Honda Stream struck him, failing to stop and fleeing the scene.

He died at Middlemore Hospital from his injuries.

Acting Detective Inspector Warrick Adkin says the vehicle was captured on CCTV footage, and has sustained damage to the front panelling.

He is urging anyone who knows the vehicle to get in touch.
