Revelations three teenagers were the victims of a single-vehicle crash, which ploughed into Marlborough's Tuamarina River at the weekend

Five passengers were in the car, as it went into the river, off State Highway 1, just before 2am on Sunday.

Two of the occupants escaped safely.

One of the victims has been identified as 19-year-old Jamie Cunningham.
