A 50-year-old man will face court today - accused of failing to stop for police and abandoning his vehicle on Auckland's North Shore last night

Police pursued a vehicle seen driving well over the limit on the Northern Motorway.

The driver didn't pull over and officers found the vehicle abandoned on Northcote's Tarahanga Street.

A man found nearby claimed no knowledge of the vehicle and declined breath and blood tests.

He will appear in the North Shore District Court today.
