Kiwis coach Stacey Jones is lamenting a below par first half after a one-point defeat to Tonga saw them miss out on the Pacific Championships final

The home side stormed back from 24-nil down in Auckland to level the game 24-all with more than 10 minutes remaining.

But Tonga were able to snatch victory with a late Isaiya Katoa field-goal.

Jones describes a second half comeback that came up just short.
