Disappointment over the timing of proposed job cuts at Sistema's Auckland plant

Disappointment over the timing of proposed job cuts at Sistema's Auckland plant

The plastics manufacturer is looking to cut 102 jobs from its 407-strong workforce -- citing declining sales and rising costs.

One worker says although it's been a possibility for a while, this still came as a shock to many.

E Tu spokesperson Georgie Dansey, says there's concern about how affected workers will support families over summer.

She says it's especially important for lower-paid workers to have funds over Christmas.
