Residents in Auckland's Remuera can expect some disruption as old water pipes are upgraded

Residents in Auckland's Remuera can expect some disruption as old water pipes are upgraded

Watercare's replacing 650 metres of an aging watermain - as part of its 28-million-dollar city-wide annual renewal programme.

Work's happening on Remuera Road, between the corners of Stoneyroyd Gardens and Loch Street, where the watermain broke three times within a day, back in Feburary.

Head of water Sharon Danks says there'll be some temporary traffic management restrictions and reduced on-street parking.

She says the majority of work will be finished before Christmas, and they'll do the final connections in late January - so they'll be gone by the start of February.
