An Auckland councillor is frustrated after a dirt bike convoy in Otara yesterday

Police arrested at least 16 people - mainly for driving offences - but also one displaying gang insignia.

Twelve bikes, two cars and a quad bike were impounded.

But Manukau councillor Alf Filipaina says such things are big distractions for Police and Hato Hone St John.

He asks what if there was a real emergency but Police are tied up with dirt bikers?
