The rural Canterbury town of Kirwee is ready to welcome the Crusaders and Blues

The rural Canterbury town of Kirwee is ready to welcome the Crusaders and Blues

The Super Rugby rivals will square off in a pre-season match at the local club from 3.30pm in front of 3000 people - nearly triple Kirwee's population.

The club groundsman - and lock for the team's second division side - Adam Dalley says an average summer for most has played into his hands.

Crusaders lock Antonio Shalfoon played his junior rugby for neighbouring club West Melton.

    He's dealt with a few questions from geographically-challenged team-mates.
