A man's appearing in Auckland District Court today, in connection to a spate of thefts and assaults in the CBD

The 49-year old faces nine charges of aggravated assault, five charges of theft from retailers, and several other charges.

They say sightings and information from the community, ultimately led them to making an arrest, which they believe will make the city centre safer.
