Northland's set to receive more heavy rain today - with risk of thunderstorms

The latest alert says rain was likely to become heavier north of Kaikohe this morning and then spread southwards later today.

Whanga¯rei District Mayor Vince Cocurullo, says the biggest problem is they don't know what the intensity will be.

He says Whanga¯rei's received the odd shower today, and the storm is presently hitting in the Far North.
