The average Auckland household will face a 324 dollar increase in rates and water bills from July

The average Auckland household will face a 324 dollar increase in rates and water bills from July

It represents a 5.8 percent rise in rates and a 7.2 percent rise in water bills.

The bills for many ratepayers this year will be skewed with the release of new property valuations which are used to set rates.

Owners of properties where the value has risen by more than the overall average increase, will pay more in rates.

The opposite is true for valuations below the overall average.
