Eleven Christchurch schools are on alert, following a police warning about a man inappropriately approaching female students

A letter to the school communities says the man's been riding a bike around Merivale and St Albans, allegedly stopping to offer students cash in exchange for inappropriate favours.

The man hasn't yet been identified.

    Investigations are ongoing.
