A driver has had their car swiped from under them while picking up a food order in Auckland

A driver has had their car swiped from under them while picking up a food order in Auckland

A pair of thieves were caught by Police and the Eagle helicopter after allegedly stealing a vehicle on Karangahape Road just before 12.30 this morning.

Police say the driver returned from collecting a meal order, to find their vehicle gone.

Senior Sergeant Tony Turner says vigilant camera operators were able to backtrack and trace the vehicle's movements.

A 41-year-old woman will appear in Auckland District Court today charged with unlawfully taking a motor vehicle and driving with excess breath alcohol.
