Christchurch Airport's busy summer season is underway - and it's already looking ahead

Christchurch Airport's busy summer season is underway - and it's already looking ahead

The first flight from Adelaide touched down yesterday, kicking off a season with around 250-thousand more seats than last year.

Aero Development Manager Gordon Bevan says planning is already underway for future growth, with new markets on the radar.

He says the airport has its largest domestic network ever - and expects the city's new stadium to drive it even further.

Bevan says Te Pae Convention Centre's had an impact equivalent of three jets from Australia per week - so they're unsure what Te Kaha and new metro sports centre will do.
