Health New Zealand's concerned measles could become widespread, despite vaccination rates picking up

Another measles case has been confirmed over the weekend in Auckland, linked to a previous one from overseas - with the total number of active cases nationwide at 17.

Health New Zealand says immunisation numbers are now the highest they've been in years, but still need to increase to achieve herd immunity.

Public Health Medicine Specialist Matthew Reid says a national response has been launched to expand access to the vaccine.
