Dozens of police officers have swarmed a central Wellington property, blocking off Webb, Hankey and Hopper Streets

Armed police, some carrying rifles, have cordons up at the intersections - as they execute an arrest warrant.

A member of the public working in the area reports seeing a woman and a man being arrested just after midday.

The public's asked to avoid the area until further notice.
