Auckland Mayor Wayne Brown's defending a surge in Auckland Council consultant costs

Brown's overseen consultant costs of 60 and 58 million dollars, in the first two full financial years of his term.

The Mayor cites the significant storm recovery work programme, transport and housing reforms as reasons for the sharp rise in costs.
