Police are examining a scene in the Auckland suburb of Epsom after a vape shop was set alight in early hours this morning

Emergency services were called at 3am to the fire at VapeBox on Manukau Rd - which is being treated as intentional.

Police say a car was driven through the shopfront and set alight.

Onehunga senior station officer Jason Cameron says it was an intense job, but crews worked quickly to extinguish the blaze.

He says the fire travelled into the neighbouring shops, and there's a significant amount of smoke damage.
