A Volcano Monitoring Network has sensed Auckland's response to the Covid-19 lockdown

A Volcano Monitoring Network has sensed Auckland's response to the Covid-19 lockdown

The Auckland Volcano Seismic Network has detected a slowdown in the amount of activity happening in the city.

GNS Science Volcanologist Brad Scott says every day the seismic noise levels are at what is usually seen on a quiet Sunday.

He says there has been a significant decrease in the amount of noise and this shows people are behaving appropriately and are staying home.
