A police stand-off in Auckland is disrupting flights

An officer was shot this morning at a property in Flat Bush - on Chapel Road.

She appears to have sustained non-life threatening injuries, with video indicating a leg wound.

The police helicopter is circling the scene - affecting about 30 flights - and has delayed at least nine international and 18 domestic arrivals and held back six departures.

Evacuated construction workers nearby say they saw a large gun barrel popping out from the window of the home.

The Salvation Army says it's aware of an incident near or at one of its social housing properties.
