Otago University is giving high school students a taste of Dunedin student life

Otago University is giving high school students a taste of Dunedin student life

More than 400 students from over 200 secondary schools are taking part in the university's Hands-On programme this week, aimed at encouraging tertiary study.

They'll stay in a residential college, take part in research projects, sample subjects and experience campus life.

Co-Convenor Dr Lisa Russell says it's a rewarding start to the year, with so many enthusiastic young people on campus.

She says it's fantastic to give students a opportunity to see that university education is a possibility for them.
