A Porirua boatie will appear in court in the coming days - after fleeing from Police today

The 27-year-old was stopped at Mana Twin Bridges boat ramp at around 8.30am and told he was under arrest for breaching bail conditions.

He fled in his boat, but was tracked down by the Police catamaran - before returning to land and hiding under a boat shed on the south side of the twin bridges at Paremata.

The man was quickly arrested - and is charged with breach of bail, and escaping custody.

Fisheries Officers are also making enquiries after an inspection of the vessel.
