Police say they're pleased with Christchurch's Electric Avenue crowd

Police say they're pleased with Christchurch's Electric Avenue crowd

An estimated 90-thousand people headed to the festival over the weekend - with Police assisting more than 400 security staff.

Senior Sergeant Karen Simmons says there were issues with people pre-loading on alcohol and arriving drunk on Friday - as well as some problematic disorderly behaviour in Riccarton and around the university.

She says Saturday was much better - the crowd was well-behaved and in great spirits.

A small number of arrests were made - and minor disorder was reported.
