Daniel Hillier's ready to change mindset after a satisfying start to golf's Alfred Dunhill Links Championship in Scotland

His nine-under par opening round was the top score of the day on the St. Andrews Old Course, and sits tied for third in the three-course event, two strokes off the lead.

Hillier now has to prepare for the Carnoustie course for round two.



The best performer at Carnoustie in the opening round was 12th-placed Jon Rahm with a seven-under 65.

Sam Jones is tied for 27th at five-under par, while Kazuma Kobori's 96th after a two-under opening round.
