The first two kiwis in the pool on the second day of swimming action at the world championships in Singapore have failed to progress out of their heats

The first two kiwis in the pool on the second day of swimming action at the world championships in Singapore have failed to progress out of their heats

Amber George was 29th overall after the heats of the 100 metre backstroke - her time a-second-and-a-half outside the semifinal qualifying mark.

19-year-old Finn Harland improved on his entry time to win his 100 metre backstroke heat - but failed to reach the semis with the 22nd best time.

Caitlin Deans and Eve Thomas have 1500m freestyle heats to come in the day's opening session.
