Marcus Daniell has returned to the tennis court, and is plotting his return to the Olympics

Daniell finished runner-up in the Wellington Open doubles alongside Finn Reynolds, in what was the Tokyo Games bronze medallist's first tournament in 22 months.

He can now use his protected ranking to enter tournaments and make a Paris bid with partner Michael Venus, pending NZOC approval.

Venus has a doubles world ranking of 16.
